I don't think that you'll find a 9" rim that will fit the rear of our quad. I'd bet it can be done, but not easy. 1. You'd have to use a rim with a much different offset and probably still have to use spacers/adapters.

I think Baxter had some 8's on the rear of his. All I can find that Maxxis makes the 4 snow tire in is 9 or 8" rim. You'd think they'd make one for the 10" rim

going riding friday Low 5 and High 25 for the day. The only thing I change when I ride in the snow is how many layers I put on.

i took a set of 400ex hubs to my local machinist and he turned the ends down to match the stock hubs... with this set up i can run 9" rims. cost me about $45 USD but saves lots of rotational weight! just the hub swap saved a couple lbs or a kilo...

so yes it can be done but takes some modding.

you could possibly take set of 9" douglas wheels with a 4/110 or 4/115 bolt pattern and drill them out to the 4/144 bolt pattern. you just have to see what kind of clearance you have on the a-arms

You can run 9" rims on the rear but even using modified 450r or 400ex hubs it's wide about 8" wider than stock front. I've run the 450r rear hubs for about 18 months. Only use the 700xx hubs for XC and Beachcross. This may change as I am growing to like the DWT 8x6 rim with a 3:3 offset. The perfect rim for the 450r hub mod.IMO.

baxter, you have a pic of the 450r hubs modded? i'm guessing that's what i did to my brothers...

how hard is it to find those wheels?

i machined down the ends of the 450r hubs so they would fit in the bearing basically to match the stock concept...

i run a DWT .125 blue label wheel thats 10x6 and a 4:2 offset for my sand paddle setup. i run the valves stems in and it just me the oem width with my 8 paddle haulers, its a cool setup

This is a 3:3 rim on reworked 450r hubs.

I have a set 2:4 , 8x6 A5 rims. Going to try these with the TRX420 hubs.
