Which one - HLS Elite Shocks vs Motowoz?

I am just wondering if anyone can compare these two shocks. I have heard good things about both of these companies. I know they both have excellent customer service. I searched for the HLS's on here but didn't come up with anything. They are more popular on other forums. There is a $400-$500 difference between the two companies so I was wondering if either one is worth the extra $$ or not. Thanks for the help.

I haven't owned either yet, but I hear nothing other than great comments about Motowoz. Have only heard of HLS a couple times. Motowoz is getting much higher reviews than Elka's. Motowoz takes tons of info. from ya and does a custom build for you, your bike and your ride style. Elka does the same, but its becoming common for them to not put the system together right the first time. Lots of Elka's are being sent back for different valving and such. Motowoz are expensive, but from what I gather they're the best.

Fox makes a good shock, but everyone gets the same shock. If you want custom you have to send it to a third party to respring or valve. Air shock aside. Thats the first time I've ever heard someone say Motowoz is low on the totem pole. lol

Of course more championships have been won by Fox and Elka, they give shocks away for free. Also, if you call up Elka or Fox and tell them to give you the same setup that won that championship, I would bet money you won't get it. I know riders who have been sponsored by Elka and have had a third party revalve/respring their shocks for them. Sure, Elka won the championship, but their setup didn't.

Motowoz are far from low on the totem pole. Over the years, I have ran Elka, revlaved/resprung Elkas, Fox, and Motowoz. From best to worst, I would rate them Motowoz, revalved/resprung Elka's, Fox, and Elka. Fox and Elka make a high quality shock and will probably make an average rider more then happy, but if you are looking for the best handling you can get, then they will need to be sent out for some extra work.

As far as the original question, I have never tried HLS, but have heard good things about them. If you are staying on a budget and are just an average trail rider, then go with HLS. If you are looking for the best performing suspension you can get and have the money, go Motowoz, you won't be disappointed. Just my opinion, take it for what it is worth, as I said, I have never tried HLS, just going by what I have heard about them.

Shocks that are mass produced are what I call a shelf shock.
Motowoz and HLS (gt thunder) custom build the shocks for you.

Some companies are better than others with valving and spring rates.

I had GT Thunder rebuild my rear shock with the hi- flow piston on my old Ltr450 and I was happier with that shock than I was with the fox float evols I had on the front. I sold the quad before I could send the shocks off for the proper valving. In hind sight I wish I would have sent GT Thunder my stock front shocks and had them set up properly. Would have saved me a lot of money.

Racers win championships.

In the GNCC series Brian Wolf has won a race on stock rebuilt shocks. I believe he had his shocks done by Jet Suspension.

It's really too bad that the 700xx did not come with rebuildable front shocks

Looked into this and GT thunder/HLS build something similar to the Elka st1 for $495.
This should help for you guys on a budget. The high end ones are for $895.00, these have adjustable everything but rebound.

Rebound is very important to me. That's why I run Motowoz ,there customer service is second to non.
