mumbauer Yeah that doesn't look bad at all, but this is good info to know to check plug first. And yeah, always carry a spare!

M_Quick I just returned from w va. Around half way through the ride my son said his 700 was cutting out in second gear. I got on it rode it like a bat out of hell up the mountain we just come down and back and it seemed fine. Towards the end of our ride about 30 minutes from the house it wouldn't stay running at all. Turns out he had fouled the plug. Earlier that day on the blacktop he was running in 3rd and 4th gear hitting the rev limiter. When I got a chance I caught up to him, and passed him and hollered fifth gear! Later I explained to him that he needed to use it, when going 55 mph! So we had no spare plug, which I will be adding to the tool box before next ride. So he ended up getting pulled back to the trailer. Atleast we were close, and it was near the end of the ride.

I didn't think the plug looked to bad, but a new one certainly took care of rhe issue.

Good to hear, I'm glad it was a cheap fix for you. Well aside from you trying a new fuel pump 1st.

04honda Correct. Last few times out at high speed would cut out like running out of Fuel but ran fine all other times. Then one day I started it up rode it bout 100 yards then it died cranked it bout 2 mins till it fired up rode bout another 100 yards then died and would not start back

M_Quick So it was running before, just cutting out at high speed & now it won't start at all?

04honda I didn't use much starting fluid on it but was sum while cranking. Never tried to fire but I did notice a little ping sound change in the engine while using the fluid. I have a new OEM spark plug ordered that should b in early as Tomorrow I'll throw in it to see if it changes anything. I haven't checked the injector. Was gonna see what the plug does for it
