700xxmaniac just get shock covers and keep riden... or use super glue and glue the cover to the bottom...

andrew c this is probably going to sound stupid those black covers under spring on rear shocks are just dust covers right? just slid them up on shock and put shock covers over shocks that should be fine right?

RemingtonSteel my ecu just went out in mine and i took it to the dealer. first call "ok its gonna be 450 to fix" told them i could get the part way cheaper elsewhere and would do it myself. next call "so it seems your quad is under warrenty and were gonna fix it" so tey did. the dealers still get paid for warrenty work but not as much as if you pay for it. something to think about.

Rkangel You may try checking out ebay. I noticed a couple stock 700xx shocks for less than $90.

I hope it works out for you. Although I don't have any first hand experience with atv warranties, I have heard similar stories about most of the manufacturers. With all the loopholes and exclusions it is not surprising (but still unfortunate) that most manufacturers play games when it comes to honoring the warranty. It would be nice if they didn't play the games though. It doesn't make sense to offer a warranty for an off road vehicle, then exclude everything because it was used off road...

andrew c just got call back from dealer on my shock problem these are the two options they said i have
1. take shock off and ship to california for them to look at quad would be down for month plus a shock out of my pocket and ship old one out and hope to get reimbursed
i would never pay 800$ out of my pocket for a crappy stock shock thats not an option nor do i want to be down a month plus with no quad. ive bought 2 other new quads both Yamahas and they have always backed up there product first time i buy a honda and i gotto deal with all this crap i absolutely love this machine with all the surgeries and cronic pain i have the IRS is truely wonderful on my back just very disappointed in the company not the quad will have to think twice before i buy another honda

av8r Find a different dealer. That's simply ridiculous...I'd call and ask to speak with the owner of the dealership and just relate the story to him and ask him what he thinks about it.

crwh45 Andrew, where in CT do you live? I'd try a different dealer. I have on over here in Danbury that is expensive, but they can't charge you for their input.
